Mutual Inheritance, 5/18/2008
- It is a blessing to be owned by Him and to own Him. There are many men on earth, but Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are special —- because God is called God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. What an honor! When God is introducing Himself, He says, “I am the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.” He is so proud of these men that He says that He is owned by them.
- On the other hand, when we read the lives of these men in Genesis, we also get a sense that these men also treasured their God above all else. God is their choicest possession. Everywhere they went, they built an altar, called upon the name of God, and worshiped Him. God is the center of their lives.
- God is proud of them, and they are proud of Him.
